A trip to Segovia!
Eifionydd is on the map! Well, at least the people of Segovia, Spain know more about Eifionydd and Wales since our visit to this beautiful region. Segovia is an historic town, about an hour and a half's journey from Madrid airport, where 32 of the choir and friends flew into on October 20th for a three night visit as guests of a choir of the local music conservatory. We stayed in a picturesque hotel, and were welcomed very warmly by the Segovians. Two 'official' concerts had been organized by our hosts - the first in a small church which was part of the royal palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso. We were officially welcomed to La Granja by the mayor.

The audiences were very welcoming and appreciative, and it was obvious that the organizers had been very busy publicizing the events as there were posters of Côr Eifionydd plastered on walls everywhere in Segovia. Apparently our pictures have also been in the local press since the concerts - all reports were excellent of course!

Whilst in Segovia we had the oppurtunity to see many of the town's sites and the surrounding area, and we also had a morning to site-see and do some shopping in Madrid before flying home. Even though the visit to Segovia was short, it was very enjoyable and a good time was had by all. The choir would like to thank Ian and Wendy Rees for organizing everything, and ensuring that the trip was so successful. The grand aquaduct in the centre of Segovia
